5 Things To Do While You’re Single

At the Navy Pier of Chicago, Illinois

Since I was 15, I've always been in a relationship so being suddenly single after so long is a breath of fresh air - almost liberating! At the same time though, I felt lost and not knowing what to do. What should I focus on? How should I spend my time?

So here I am, blissfully single for 11 months, and I've come up with 5 Things to Do While I'm Still Single:

1. Reconnect with God and strengthen my faith.
2. Build and deepen relationships with family and friends.
3. Do the things I have always wanted to do: travel, try new sports, blog, read and dine.
4. Date myself. Get to know myself and fortify my identity.
5. Enjoy making others happy :)

The 100 Things Every 20-Something Needs To Realize

I wish that when I was younger, there were more articles or resources like this. It would have helped me shape my growing up years :)

Nevertheless, I have no regrets. I am who I am today because of what I thought, did and believed in the past. But for you, the younger generation, read The 100 Things Every 20-Something Needs To Realize by Paul Hudson.

10 Things To Remember When Everything Seems To Be Going Wrong

I used to worry a lot. Worrying was my habit. It makes me secured when I worry because I was foreseeing hitches and problems and preparing by having plans A, B and C. I was heavily relying on my own brain capacity and strength - this was stressful and frustrating.
Now I am recognizing that God is sovereign and he cares for me. He is faithful to His promises so I no longer need to stress out and be worried about anything.
The LORD is my light and my salvation
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

(Psalm 27:1 NIV)

3 Reasons to Travel While You’re Young

I'm no longer as young as I would want to be but I've started travelling recently and I'm enjoying it while I'm still single and able.

But why travel instead of saving and working your ass off?
1. Travel is best done when you are at your best physical state, i.e. when you are young and healthy.
2. Travel will open your eyes and you'll see the world. This will help you in your studies, work and relationships.
3. Travel will trigger your zest for life, ignite your passion and make you fall in love.

Here are Jeff Goins' 3 Reasons to Travel While You're Young

What do you think? What are your reasons for travelling when you're young? :)

5 Regrets People Make on their Deathbed

This year of 2013 has been a turning point in my life. I've committed my life to Jesus and started engaging my faith. Acknowledging His presence and overflowing goodness, I'm left wondering what's next and this desire to make my life worthwhile and to be of use to others.

Early this morning, a friend shared me this verse:

33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy,[a] your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy,[b] your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.” (Luke 11:33-36 NIV)

This verse reminds me that whatever I'm experiencing should reflect in my words, actions and decisions moving forward. I'm no longer the old person I was and should bring with with me my light wherever I go. Live life with passion, with purpose and regretless.

Two hours after I received the verse, I read about A Nurse Reveals Top 5 Regrets People Make on their Deathbed.

Read it and be blessed. :)

Why WHO You Marry Matters

With My Ring on the Night of my Engagement

I wish I have read this article years ago.. but then again, it's all about timing. I would have read this in the past without giving it weight like I do now :)

Please take some time to read this. Go to a quiet place and feed your heart what it needs to hear.
